A tense breath followed for a moment from across the Pacific.

[… Is it the prosecution or the National Tax Service?]

“Director Kwon.”

Seo Seung-hyun retorted in a somber tone as he gazed out the window. An unpaved road wound its way through the dark mountains and fields, nestled between them. The flickering lights of sporadic street lamps dimly illuminated the barren land, where the temperature had dropped to minus 11 degrees Celsius.

[Wasn’t it better that it’s Executive Director Kwon, not anyone else, who looked at the situation and sort it out?]

“If it won’t work for anyone else, it won’t work for Kwon.”

Something stood out to Kwon Shin-woo’s eye when thinking about the Shanghai case.

Seo Seung-hyun’s expression turned cold. Kwon Shin-woo is the type of person who doesn’t trust others. He discovered that Seo Seung-hyun is once again working with Lee Young-jin, who tried to steal from him in Shanghai, and he started to suspect Seo Seung-hyun.

Coming to the workshop in Pohang was a kind of warning.

Of course, Seo Seung-hyun had no intention of meekly backing down in the face of that warning.

“If Kwon Shin-woo is suspecting me because of what happened in Shanghai, then he can go to hell. We’re dealing with this shit because of him in the first place.”

[Then…]

“We’ll soon be targeted by the Financial Services Commission. So let’s sell our shares and lower the market capitalization.”

If the stock price plummets before the audit and we raise suspicions about Seoran, the Financial Supervisory Service will investigate.

Jang Young-hee, who had been hesitating, asked a question over the phone.

[So, are you quitting the Shanghai operation?]

“I am. We received an advance payment, so we have to do the work accordingly. In the meantime, you and I will be busy until we set up the new workshop.”

Seo Seung-hyun added briefly.

“And hire one temporary employee.”

There was a hint of laughter in his voice. Jang Young-hee, who couldn’t easily understand Seo Seung-hyun’s intentions, hesitated.

[I’ll be fine, but are you sure, CEO?]

“Look at the mess that’s happening right now. We have to make it work, even if it’s not okay. By the way, did you call for a reason?”

[Ah… Yes. I contacted Chairman Yang.]

“Caracas?”

[Yes. There seems to be some progress in Bogota as well, so if you decide to get involved, I’ll roughly handle the deals.]

“What about the auction?”

[Chairman Yang said he’ll look into it, but it doesn’t seem easy. CEO, maybe we should focus on cleaning up the Pohang workshop a bit…]

“Forget about that, it’s already decided.”

Seo Seung-hyun cut off Jang Young-hee’s words. Jang Young-hee obediently replied, “Yes.” Seo Seung-hyun remembered Jang Young-hee’s bear-like figure, hunched over with his eyes downcast and his forehead visible, and he chuckled.

“Tell Chairman Yang to set up the deals in Bogota. Prepare three passports.”

[Three passports?]

“You, me, and one more person. Lee Sang-jong, Omega, early twenties, male.”

“I understand.”

Jang Young-hee replied without hesitation.

The call ended.

The limousine silently sped along the highway connecting Guri and Pohang. The lights of street lamps and passing cars quickly flashed by outside the window.

Seo Seung-hyun stared silently at the dark screen of his smartphone after the call ended. Just before the screen turned off, he lightly tapped the screen with his finger. Tap, tap, a couple of gentle taps, and then his finger slipped. With one hand, he rummaged through his coat pocket and took out a pair of earphones. He inserted one of the smooth wireless earphones into his ear and used his other hand to push the screen, summoning a video.

A shaky, unfocused video appeared.

His narrow eyes stared fixedly at the video, and his index finger scrolled to the right. The screen changed. Squelching sounds, sobbing, swallowing saliva, bodies colliding, a low whispering voice. [Stop. It’s too full… I can’t take it anymore. Ah, ah…] A poignant moaning sound. As he watched and indulged in the explicit sounds of sex, a conversation with Jang Young-hee unintentionally came to mind.

“What do you think those perverts would do if they saw my sex video?”

“They won’t masturbate.”

Hmm. What did I say in response at that time?

Seo Seung-hyun was lost in thought as he looked down at the video.

A chilling coldness rose below his sternum.

The heat that pounded the back of his head was the complete opposite.

A hazy discomfort.

Seo Seung-hyun thought of the law enforcement group comprised of 90% alphas and 10% omegas, and then he thought of the faces and names he was familiar with among them. And then, he imagined those bastards affixing a label that read ‘SH Seo Seung-hyun Sex Video’ to this video and savoring it, greedily swallowing their saliva. Naturally, the object of their desire wouldn’t be him.

“Hmm…”

Seo Seung-hyun made a sullen sound and shifted his posture by leaning his body to the other side. The bulky upper body that filled the spacious sedan, each seat equipped with armrests, moved slowly.

“Young-hee, you were wrong.”

He chuckled softly, tapping the phone screen with his fingertip.

Didn’t a masterpiece come out that would be enough to squeeze them dry? Of course, that wouldn’t be the case for him. After swallowing those words, he promptly deleted the video.

It wasn’t his taste.

Once again, all his sexual interests and desires revolved around seducing and entrapping arrogant and beautiful omegas, devoting his body and soul to them. Thus, this type of sex video only stimulated his discomfort and didn’t fulfill any of his desires.

Seo Seung-hyun thought of Lee Young-jin.

He thought about his moist, black eyes, the melancholic drooping eyelids and eyelashes, the tear dot next to them, the round, white forehead, and the audacious lips that said it didn’t matter because there was already a video, so it wouldn’t be a problem to film him again.

Seo Seung-hyun also remembered Kwon Shin-woo’s final words.

Tuck, tuck, his fingers lightly tapped the armrest of the seat.

The limousine entered the Gangbyeon expressway at around 10 p.m., where the Han River flowed southward, emitting a silvery glow in the darkness. The glittering lights of Seoul’s nightlife appeared like an illusion on the other side of the Han River.

He took out his phone again and pressed the call button.
