In the blazing sun of the desert, a young man with black hair and golden eyes walked quickly.
This was Sigmund, who had fully regained his power since Leticia became a saint.
He glanced back and smirked at the white-haired boy following him.
“Move faster. Are you really the greatest archmage?”
“Why should I be faster than you, Sigmund?”
“Clearly, the greatest archmage isn’t you; it’s Callisto.”
“Sigmund!”
At Sigmund’s teasing, the boy scowled. His lizard-like green eyes twisted in annoyance as he pointed and shouted.
“Seriously! How can you compare me to that kid? I’m way better!”
“Enough noise, just keep up.”
Disregarding the archmage—more specifically, the historically greatest archmage of the magic empire, Heintz—Sigmund continued on his way.
“There’s a mountain of work to do. The end of the long beginning is right in front of us. How long do you plan to hesitate? While the children find their lives, is it right for transcendent beings to linger? Aren’t you ashamed in front of those kids?”
In Sigmund’s serious grip was a black birdcage. Inside was a purple gem that shimmered strangely—the sealed soul of Lehir, whom Sigmund had imprisoned long ago.
Sigmund strode on, exuding an authority that was hard to express, having fully regained the powers of a dragon.
The immense energy of the dragon spilled forth, creating strange miracles with each step.
Golden particles scattered with every step, rising into the sky and forming hazy scenes. Heintz clicked his tongue as he gazed at the blurry visuals floating in the azure air.
“Dragons, as always.”
Hidden within his grumbling words was an undeniable sense of awe. He watched the scenes created by the dragon’s power in silence.
「Latil, why did you suddenly come without notice?」
「I came to wish you a happy birthday, sister.」
In the closest circle, two little ladies appeared.
Lehira and Latil. The descendants of Genos and the Holy Empire.
The ones who would lead the future.
Perhaps because she was born of Gilead’s power, Lehira’s presence was particularly striking even in the images.
Though still far from adulthood, her features had sharpened, creating a charming smile that seemed to captivate many hearts.
It felt as if a future was already being drawn, one that would make countless young men’s hearts race, and Heintz pouted. Sigmund, who would undoubtedly boast endlessly about his descendants, seemed to already be envisioning that future.
「Latil, it’s been a while.」
「Brother…」
Once merely a delicate rabbit, Latil, having met Lehira, was blossoming into a graceful beast, shyly blushing.
As Gilead’s foresight had shown, the pink affection had crept into her heart since her first meeting with Abel, like a fever.
Fortunately, Abel, who once knew only his sister with blind devotion, had slowly started to be enchanted by Latil.
Though he still couldn’t express it due to the responsibilities and embarrassment of being a prince of Genos, Heintz could clearly see their future.
‘In the end, that kid will be the new ruler of the Holy Empire.’
And the one who would connect them would be Lehira, watching them with a smile from the side.
After observing Lehira, who would soon become the next emperor of Genos, Heintz shifted his gaze.
‘Why are there so many of these floating screens?’
The images suspended in the air multiplied one by one. Perhaps it was because it resembled its master; the dragon’s power had a tendency to show off its abilities.
‘As if I’m the only one here to see it.’
Heintz shook his head in disbelief. Meanwhile, the dragon’s power illuminated every corner of this world, reflecting the humans Sigmund had cherished and watched over for so long.
「Irene, sob sob. Do you really have to go? Without you, I won’t know how to live.」
「I’ll be back in two months.」
「Two months is too long for me, sob sob.」
「I’ll return as soon as I can. Please don’t overwork yourself in the meantime. Make sure the hospital closes on time, and don’t stay up all night with patients. You can’t take care of everyone by yourself. Please ask others for help, understood?」
「Sob sob, Irene.」
「Don’t be too sad. Becoming a good doctor was something I had to do eventually. Don’t worry about me. The knights are watching over me, and besides, I am a wing of the goddess. Kailas is with me too.」
「Still…」
「Sister is waiting for you, Father. I’ll be back soon!」
Among the floating images was Irene, who had grown significantly since she first became a wing, alongside Kailas, the Healing Wing revered by many in Genos.
「My lord! Please calm down!」
「Didn’t you say the lady, no, the empress collapsed! How can you ask me to calm down? What on earth should I do?」
「Let’s first hear why she collapsed…」
「Sister!」
Having reigned as the iron-blooded duke of the Holy Empire for over ten years, Banessa was recognized by everyone, but he lost his composure in matters related to his wife…
「Why is there so much commotion?」
Even after ten years of marriage, Emperor Dana still had the power to control the iron-blooded duke with a single word, her smile softening the tension.
「Sister! Are you okay? I heard you collapsed? Why? If Latil has left me too, then…」
「Our daughter is in Genos, so why are you panicking? Calm down.」
「Sister, it’s a miracle I made it here in one piece…」
「Keep your composure. It’s your first meeting with the second child.」
「…What?」
「You and I need to take good care of our health.」
Dana smiled as she placed her husband’s hand on her belly.
「We need to be happy for a long time with our second child, right?」
Banessa, who had been staring blankly at his wife, suddenly widened his eyes. After a moment of shock, he sprang up, scooping her into his arms and began to dance around. Dana’s startled screams and Banessa’s laughter gradually faded away.
Soon after, others appeared.
「Julios, is it true?」
「Why would I lie to you? It’s clearly Gilead’s dream.」
「Ah, then really, a child…」
「You’ve waited a long time. Congratulations, Duke Ahwin.」
With his legs giving way, Ahwin sank into a chair.
His previously long silver hair was now cut short, glimmering under the sunlight. He buried his face in trembling hands, unable to speak as emotions surged.
‘So, they’ve resolved things over there as well.’
Heintz had often witnessed the beloved humans of Sigmund during his time with him.
Most of the people Sigmund cherished had found happiness, but among them were those who suffered greatly.
Noel, the first wing of Leticia, and Ahwin, the second wing.
Both were living happily, their feelings for each other still strong, and they contributed to the growth of Genos with the power of their wings.
However, they shared a concern: they had not yet welcomed a child.
At first, Noel had been fearful of having a child, but now she anxiously awaited one.
Yet, there had been no news at all. Neither of them had any issues with their bodies. The Healing Wing had checked numerous times, yet nothing had changed.
Then, not long ago, Julios had a dream. As the Prophetic Wing and Gilead, his dreams were the very essence of the future.
In the dream, Julios saw the child who would soon be born to the couple. He immediately informed Ahwin of this revelation.
